Set in the early 1980s, the era of big hair and skin-tight jeans, This Is Our Youth depicts three coddled teens living on Manhattan’s Upper West Side who, through comedy and tragedy, struggle with identity and security. Despite being set 30 years ago, Lonergan skillfully and accurately depicts how 19- and 21-year-olds speak with each other. 

Many popular young film actors have made the leap from screen to stage in this show, including Matt Damon, Jake Gyllenhaal, Casey Affleck, Anna Paquin and Summer Phoenix.

David Bass will direct the Newtown production, November 9 to December 1. More details to come.
