Newtown High School's girls' soccer team won 1-0 at Brookfield on September 22 as Karsen Pirone scored off a Sarah Houle corner kick. The Nighthawks kept up their winning ways - and unbeaten start in seven games to begin the fall - with a 6-0 triumph over visiting Bunnell of Stratford, at Blue & Gold Stadium, on September 26. Carly Swierbut led the way with a three-goal, hat-trick performance.

Pirone, Grace Corcoran, and Emmia Curtis also scored. Houle had two assists, and Pirone and Curtis each added an assist. Goalkeepers Julianna Stavola and Janyce Toth each made a save.
