Help NYS Contribute To Newtown

To the Editor:

I would like to encourage all Newtown residents to take a small amount of time to become aware of the significant contribution that Newtown Youth Services (NYS) and its associated youth groups make to our community. From prevention and awareness programs to counseling services, this agency directly impacts, in a very positive way, the quality of life in our town. Take a minute to find the Newtown Youth Services section of this newspaper to see just how much the agency is presently doing. I believe that everyone who knows what goes on at NYS agrees that it is indeed promoting the positive development of our youth.

To keep pace with the town’s expansion, the board and staff of NYS need your help. How can you help? Utilize the programs being offered; attend NYS sponsored events; find out about volunteering opportunities. To help with the direction that agency takes, contact me about becoming a board member at 270-4335. But, as a minimum, please become aware of what NYS does for our town.
