To the Editor:

Republicans currently control the House of Representatives with a slim majority, and they are proving that they either can’t or don’t want to govern. This congress will go down as one of the least productive in history. Although Mike Johnson has the title of Speaker of the House, he is often the speaker for Trump who has one goal — to return to the White House to stay out of the jail house.

Trump killed the bi-partisan comprehensive immigration and border security bill while it was still in the Senate because he wanted immigration as a campaign issue that he could run on. It would have been beneficial to the country and to both parties to pass it, but Trump doesn’t care about either, he only cares about himself and that will never change. Funding for Ukraine was held up for months because of Trump and he is currently pushing for a government shut down.

Trump lost his first election by almost three million votes but won the Electoral College. In 2020 that number was seven million and he lost the EC. He then threw a tantrum and tried to overthrow the government and take control of the process. Let’s face it he really is not that popular, and that differential could grow in November. By that measure he is a loser. His only hope is the Electoral College and he and his MAGA minions are doing everything in their power to rig that result. Their fallback plan is to create total chaos and throw it to the House to be decided. For that reason, it is imperative that Republicans lose control of the House of Representatives, or we could be facing another January 6th.

Republicans will fight for Trump.
