St Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church will host a double feature event with Jason Evert featuring two talks: “Purified” and “Gender & the Theology of Your Body.”

The family-based event invites parents, teens, and all adults to learn about God’s plan for love and to consider what the meaning of sex, gender, and the human body is. The event is open to all. St Rose is the only parish within the Diocese of Bridgeport that will host the event.

The event is planned for Thursday, October 10, from 6 to 9:15 pm. Tickets are $25 and available through chastity.com/purified. Families purchasing four or more tickets for their members will receive a discount through the family bundle online.

“Purified” brings parents and teens (13+) together to discover God’s plan for love and opens up an opportunity for them to continue the discussion about this important topic at home, in a healthy and easy way with resources that work. The event includes a new version of Evert’s renowned “Love or Lust,” where he mixes humor with down-to-earth practicality that removes any awkwardness, making the difficult conversations about love much easier.

Families will leave with an understanding of the good news of chastity, a healthy sense of self-worth, and the ability, if needed, to start again.

“Gender and the Theology of Your Body” will follow after a short break. The presentation explores how Catholics can approach the topic of gender with charity and clarity. This talk is for teens and adults and provides the opportunity to discuss this difficult topic facing teens and families today.

The event combines the two presentations with a time of prayer and adoration for everyone with the sacrament of Reconciliation available. Free resources will also be distributed to every attendee so every member of the family can take items home to help them discover how their body as a man or woman reveals their identity and calling and to live a life of purity.

Jason and Crystalina started Chastity Project to help teens and young adults discuss why chastity makes them free to love. To date the project has reached more than two million people on six continents.
