The School Counseling Office at Newtown High School is sponsoring an evening presentation titled “Financing College,” on Tuesday, October 8, at 7 pm, in the lecture hall of the high school, 12 Berkshire Road.

The program will be conducted by Charles Wareham, a financial advisor for LPL Financial in Hartford. The event is not a sales presentation, but will provide information that will benefit students and parents. 

The evening presentation will provide information on how the financial aid system works and recent updates to the financial aid system; the primary sources of college funds; what to expect in education loans; common pitfalls to watch out for; creative strategies for funding college costs; how the federal and state budget crisis will affect student aid; and a current market outlook and where to invest for college.
