The Foundation 4 Orphans, a non-profit organization whose mission is to serve the educational, emotional, physical and spiritual needs of orphans, will host a fundraiser in Sandy Hook on September 27 for the construction of a new orphanage in Xia Xia, Mozambique. All proceeds will go toward the construction of the new orphanage.

The event will be held at McLaughlin Vineyards, 14 Alberts Hill Road in Sandy Hook, from 7 to 10 pm.

A $50 donation includes wine tasting, hors d’oeuvres and live music. There will also be a silent auction.

The Foundation 4 Orphans is an interfaith, intergenerational and international non-governmental organization dedicated to supporting the emotional, educational, physical and spiritual needs of orphans. Currently F4O is working in the United States, Mozambique and the Kurdish region of Iraq.

Total estimated cost for the new orphanage in Xia Xia (pronounced “shy shy”) is $200,000.  The school will host 70 children who will live in family styled buildings for six to eight children each. Each building will include an adult who will serve as the new parent to these children.

It is the hope of F4O to break ground for the new orphanage in January 2014.
