Memorial Concert Raises Over $3,000

On Sunday, September 23, the Connecticut Master Chorale, under the direction of Tina Johns Heidrich, hosted an ecumenical memorial concert for the victims of the September 11 tragedy. The concert was held at St Rose of Lima Church in Newtown, who sponsored the event.

Close to 100 singers from all around the area participated, and a very large audience attended the very emotional tribute to the victims. The music presented was Faure’s Requiem, Prayer for Peace Prayer for Peace by Benjamin Harlan, The Lord is My Shepherd by Thomas Mathews, and the Lord’s Prayer arranged by Tina Heidrich.

A freewill offering was accepted, with a total of $3,348 collected and delivered to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
