Chicken Dinner To Assist Project 2002

OXFORD — Immanuel Lutheran Church will hold its 18th Annual Chicken BBQ on Saturday, October 6, from 4:30 to 7pm in the church hall, 25 Great Hill Road in Oxford (off Route 67).

The menu will include half of a roasted chicken, corn, baked potato, salad bar, apple pie, and beverages. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Contact the church office, 203-888-4713, for reservations and further information.

The event is part of a fund raising campaign for Immanuel’s Native American Project 2002. The church has, on two previous occasions, transported tons of desperately needed food, clothing and household items to the Indian reservation in Scotts Bluff, Neb., as well as to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Because of the success of previous trips, Immanuel is once again undertaking the enormous project.

Anyone interested in participating in the humanitarian project is encouraged to contact the church office or Project 2002 coordinator Louella Frey at 263-0127.
