Safe At Home, LLC, the Newtown-based in-home pet care company, announced this week that Lynn Purus has joined its staff of professional pet sitters.

Ms Purus, a lifelong animal lover with a diverse background including equines, canines, felines, fowl, and reptiles, is a longtime pet sitter. In addition to caring for others pets, she has three horses, seven chickens, one dog, three rabbits, one anole (a lizard), three cats, and three hamsters at her home.

“With this many animals to her credit, [Lynn] Purus brings a multitude of experience and knowledge to Safe At Home. Her talent with horses is a great asset as well,” according to Lisa Peterson, Safe At Home partner.

“We welcome Lynn and look forward to her helping us serve our more than 200 clients in the greater Newtown area,” Adria Henderson, Safe At Home founder, said. “Our clients will appreciate her professional approach to pet sitting.”

Lynn Purus is active with many organizations, including the Newtown Bridle Lands Association, serving as a sector representative working with developers to preserve existing trails and create new open space. She is also a member of the Future Farmers of America.

Before she became a mother of three and stay-at-home mom, Ms Purus worked in advertising for a number of years. She is a graduate of St John’s University with a bachelor’s degree in communications arts.

Ms Purus resides with her husband Dan, a middle school assistant principal and director of youth services in Queens, New York, and three children, Jenn, 15, Amy, 10, and Bryan 8, in Sandy Hook.
