Newtown Continuing Education Courses Available

Newtown Continuing Education announced it has limited openings available in the following classes.

Raising Your Positivity — A four-class course starting on Wednesday, October 7, for $69.

The course strives to raise positivity through happiness, hope, joy, and many other upbeat emotions. According to the course description. this will help to flourish in all areas of life. Students will learn what they can do to bring more happiness and greater fulfillment to their lives.

Creative Jewelry — A one-class course being offered on Tuesdasy, October 13 or October 20, for $39.

Students will learn to design and make their own unique jewelry. They will design and make bracelets, necklaces, and earrings.

A materials fee of $10 is payable to the instructor at the start of class.

Cooking For Your Health — A four-class course starting on Tuesday, October 13, for $120.

This interactive course will be composed of cooking demos and range from knowledge on how to use simple cooking tips to save time and money while also being eco-friendly.

A materials fee of $60 is payable to the instructor the first night of class.

Start Cancer Prevention Now — A one-class course on Wednesday, October 14, for $20.

Attendees will learn how food can influence health, the aging process, and the immune system. Dr Elena Sokolova will discuss the most chemically contaminated foods.

Students will learn about the “Dirty Dozen, Plus,”and which foods are anti-inflammatory and anti-carcinogenic. They will learn how to avoid the top five toxic foods and will discover how to create their very own fountain of youth with the right food choices. Students are asked to bring questions to this popular class.

Investing 101 — A one-time class on October 14 for $29.

Students will explore some of the basic tools that can help them take control of their financial future, and will take a look at some of the common behaviors and biases that can get in the way of managing priorities and setting and achieving realistic goals.

A Taste of New York-Italian Style — A bus trip on Saturday, October 17, for $79.

Participants will visit three New York Food “hot spots” in three different neighborhoods all in one day. Students will have time to shop, snack, and bring home their favorite Italian foods.

Each passenger is responsible for their own purchases, and students may bring a cooler on the bus. The trip includes a tour director who will share tips and suggestions at each neighborhood and deluxe motor coach transportation.

This tour will include moderate walking.
