The annual tradition of The Newtown Bee hosting a forum for residents to meet and learn about candidates on the November ballot continues this year with a planned forum featuring six legislative contenders.

The event is set for Tuesday, October 21, at Edmond Town Hall, with a meet and greet session in the lobby at 7 pm, and the forum running from 7:30 to 9 pm.

Any reader or Newtown resident is invited to e-mail or post questions to the newspaper or its Facebook page; just reference the upcoming Candidates Forum along with your query.

E-mail questions to editor@thebee.com.

Questions can also be submitted to the editor via US Post to Curtiss Clark – Candidates Forum, The Newtown Bee, 5 Church Hill Road, Newtown CT 06470.

The deadline to submit questions is Monday, October 20, at noon.

The following state legislative candidates have confirmed they will participate:

Second District incumbent Republican Dan Carter,

Second District Democratic challenger Candace Fay,

112th District Republican challenger JP Sredzinski,

112th District Democratic challenger Jen Aguilar,

106th District incumbent Republican Mitch Bolinsky, and

106th District Democratic challenger Matt Cole.

The Bee also plans to interview and profile 28th Senate District challengers Republican Tony Hwang and Democratic Kim Fawcett, but is restricting forum participation to the six state representative contenders.
