Police report that after he learned that they held a warrant for his arrest, a male under age 18 went to the police station on the evening of September 24 and was charged with five counts of first-degree sexual assault.

The serious charge is a Class B felony which is punishable by at least one year of imprisonment when incarceration is imposed in a conviction.

Police charged the youth on a juvenile arrest warrant issued by Danbury Juvenile Court. Police provided no details on the incidents that led to the arrest. The arrest followed an investigation triggered by a complaint which police received in April.

Following arrest processing, police released the youth on a written promise to appear in Danbury Juvenile Court on October 7.

Because the person charged is under age 18, police did not disclose his identity.
