Traffic Reminder

Due to construction and increased enrollment, changing traffic patterns for the afternoon at Newtown High School are now in effect, according to the school. The following information was provided by the school, and the traffic patterns will be in effect until further notice.

Due to the new portable classrooms located in Parking Lot A, near the cafeteria, school buses are no longer able to pick up or drop off students there. The school bus afternoon pickup/staging area at NHS will be in both driveways leading up to the main entrance of the school, the bus only lane, and the outside lane. Parent-student afternoon pickup was moved to Parking Lot A, the cafeteria lot, due to the new bus pickup arrangement.

Between 1:35 pm and 2:15 pm, vehicles cannot gain access to the NHS Main Entrance Driveway, Parking Lot B, the upper lot, and/or Parking Lot C, near the auto shop. Access to the campus during this time period is extremely limited, with the exception of parents picking up students in Parking Lot-A.

All residents are asked to remember the heavy traffic time slot between 1:35 pm and 2:15 pm on Berkshire Road.
