*THE DEREK TRUCKS BAND has spent the past month touring European festivals, and made an appearance on Good Morning America, and now is ready to tackle the second leg of a US tour supporting newest album Already Free. The band has a pair of DTB shows in Connecticut this season, with a show at the Palace Theatre in Stamford on Halloween and then a show at Garde Arts Center in New London on November 5.

Tickets for both shows are on sale, available through the respective venues or by going through DerekTrucksBand.com.

Fans of all ages also have the opportunity to play along with the band now that Guitar Hero 5 has been released. The latest version of the incredibly popular game includes “Young Funk,” off the band’s 1998 album Out Of The Madness.

*Alt-rockers 311 will be on the road later this year as well, supporting their latest release Uplifter. The band will be at Mohegan Sun Arena on Sunday, November 22, with State Radio opening, and tickets are going on sale Friday morning (September 25). All seats are $35; purchase them through TicketMaster after 10 on Friday, and through the casino’s box office beginning 24 hours later.

*DON HENLEY will be at The MGM Grand at Foxwoods on Wednesday, November 4.

Tickets will be on sale Friday, October 2, at 10 am, priced at $60, $80 and $90. They can be purchased online through MGMAtFoxwoods.com, through TicketMaster vendors, by calling the MGM Grand box office (866-646-0609), or by visiting the box office in person.

*The Windborne Symphony will perform The Music of Led Zeppelin & The Music of Queen on Saturday, November 28, at the Chevrolet Theatre in Wallingford. Tickets will be on sale Friday morning (Sept 25) at 10, priced from $35 to $65, available through LiveNation.com.

The show will feature vocalists Randy Jackson and Brody Dolyniuk.

*For those who enjoy the country fair circuit, GRAND FUNK RAILROAD will make a stop at The Berlin Fair next weekend. Part of the band’s 40th anniversary tour, the show will be Sunday, October 4, at 2 pm.

Tickets are $12 for adults, and $8 for seniors. Children will be admitted for free.

Call 860-828-0063 or visit BerlinMusicFest.com for details.

*KANYE WEST and LADY GAGA will bring their “Fame Kills: Starring Kanye West & Lady Gaga” tour to the XL Center in Hartford. Joy. I guess that break West told Jay Leno he was going to take while on Leno’s show last week isn’t going to be very long after all.

Tickets for the December 26 show will run from $39.50 to $129.50 and will be going on sale Saturday, October 3, at 10 am, through LiveNation and TicketMaster vendors.

Until next week, I’ll be seeing you… on the road.
