Join Womenâs Centerâs Annual 4k Walk
DANBURY â October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and to keep the issue in focus, the Womenâs Center of Greater Danbury is hosting its 4th Annual 4k Walk Against Domestic Violence on Sunday, October 4, at the Westside Campus of Western Connecticut State University.
This year, the Womenâs Center honors it Founding Mothers, Betti Corso, Alice Chapman, and Bonnie Law.
Newtown residents are invited to come out and enjoy games for kids, music, Zumba, hot air balloon rides, and much more. Rain or shine, registration begins at 8:30 am, followed by opening remarks at 9:30, and the Walk at 10. In the event of inclement weather, all Walk activities will be held in the OâNeill Center at WCSU.
The Womenâs Center of Greater Danbury provides free and confidential services to prevent or lessen the trauma associated with domestic violence, sexual assault, and other major life transitions to thousands of women, children, and men annually.
The programs of the Womenâs Center are supported by state and local government, area United Way agencies, and the people and businesses in the 14 communities it serves, including Newtown.
