Banning Dogs At Fairfield Hills?

To the Editor:

I was shocked when I read the article in The Bee where Mr Geckle, the head of the Fairfield Hills Authority, said he would consider banning dogs from Fairfield Hills. How does one person have so much power in this town, first it was the sidewalks on Queen Street and now he is deciding who gets to enjoy the walking paths and fields on Fairfield Hills?

I go running quite often in Fairfield Hills and rarely see any dogs off leash. I do agree that dog owners need to be responsible and need to pick up after their dogs. A solution would be to enforce the fines posted in Fairfield Hills. If he needs assistance in doing so I believe the Democrats would offer volunteers to help in this effort.

What’s next, no dogs allowed on Main Street?
