It’s Time to Make Strides

WESTPORT — The American Cancer Society will hold its 8th Annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on Sunday, October 14 at 10 am at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport.

Registration starts at 8:30 am with a short warm-up and opening ceremony before the five-mile walk begins. The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event seeks to increase awareness about early detection and good breast health. All funds raised from the event will go specifically towards breast cancer research and local programs and services. Volunteers can walk and collect pledges from family, friends, co-workers and others; organize a team of walkers; sponsor a walker with a generous, tax-deductible contribution; volunteer on the day of the event; double your fundraising dollars through a matching-gifts program; and learn how to protect yourself against breast cancer with early detection.
