Dr Vincent Annunziata

Dr Vincent Annunziata, 95, of Clearwater, Fla., formerly of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Newtown, died September 23 at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater.

Born in Terzigno, Italy, he came to the United States as an infant in 1906. He was a prominent cardiologist and former director of medicine at St John’s Hospital, Brooklyn, N.Y., and was on staff at Fairfield Hills Hospital, Newtown.

Dr Annunziata was a past president and founder of the New York Cardiological Society, Fellow in the Brooklyn Society of Internal Medicine, the American Society of Internal Medicine, the New York State Society of Internal Medicine, and Brooklyn Chapter Society of Internal Medicine. In addition, he was also a member of the Kings County Medical Society, New York State Medical Society, The American Medical Association, a Fellow in the American College of Cardiology and a Fellow in the American College of Chest Physicians.

Survivors include a daughter, Alvera D. Williams of Clearwater, Fla.; a son, Vincent M. Annunziata of Cochecton, N.Y.; two sisters, Anne Palermo of Forest Hills, N.Y., and Nina Tumbarello of Ellicott City, Md.; two brothers, Alfred S. Annunziata of Fussen, Germany, and Joseph Annunziata of Hicksville, N.Y.; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
