Desrosiers Attains Board Certification

NEW BRITAIN — Albert E. Desrosiers of Newtown, a partner in the law firm of Cousins, Johnson & Desrosiers of Stratford, has earned the title of Board Certified Workers’ Compensation Specialist in Connecticut by meeting rigorous requirements in the area of workers’ compensation law.

Mr Desrosiers is among 31 lawyers who comprise the first group of Connecticut attorneys to achieve board certification under a new program sponsored by the Connecticut Bar Association (CBA) and its Workers’ Compensation Section.

Workers’ compensation is the practice of law dealing with the representation of employers and employees before state agencies and courts to determine eligibility for worker’s compensation benefits.

Mr Desrosiers is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and the Greater Bridgeport Bar Association and serves as co-chair of the latter group’s Worker’s Compensation Committee.

He currently serves on the board of directors of the Family Counseling Center and has recently completed a term on the Region XI, Catholic School Board of Education.

Mr Desrosiers received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut and his law degree from Western New England College School of Law.

He resides in Newtown with his wife and two daughters.

The CBA is a voluntary, not-for-profit association of lawyers and judges dedicated to promoting public service and advancing the principles of law and justice through its 11,000 members.
