Alzheimer’s Caregiver Course

GREENWICH — A five-part training program for the Alzheimer’s caregiver will take place starting on Tuesday, October 2 from 7-9 pm at the Greenwich Town Hall on 101 Field Point Road in Greenwich.

It will continue every Tuesday in October – October 9, 16, 23 and 30.

The course is designed to enhance both the knowledge and the skills of family members, friends, and professional caregivers. Course topics include communication techniques, managing behavioral challenges, legal issues and dementia, available treatments and much more. Experts in the field of dementia care such as registered nurses, doctors, elder care attorneys, social workers, physical, occupational and speech therapists will present the course.

The course is free and open to the public because of the support of the Ruth D. Brown Foundation. To register, or for more information about the course or Alzheimer’s call, the Southern Connecticut Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, at 203-845-0010.
