AAUW Forum On Women’s Health

Norma Gyle, RN, Deputy Commissioner Public Health for Connecticut. and Kristen Zarfos, MD, Director of Breast Health at the University of Connecticut Health Center, will be guest speakers at a Forum on Women’s Health on October 11. Sponsored by the Danbury and Ridgefield Branch of American Association of University Women, the program starts at noon at Western Connecticut State University’s Westside campus.

Deputy Commissioner Gyle, a co-chair of the Connecticut Women’s Health Summit, will speak on legislative issues regarding women’s health. She has been involved in many legislative initiatives, including 48-hour maternity stay, managed care reform, and standardized rape protocol. Dr Zarfos is an assistant professor of surgery at the University of Connecticut Health Center and will speak on breast health. In 1997, she spoke at the White House on “The Impact of Outpatient Mastectomies on Women with Breast Cancer.”
