Newman's Own Issues A Challenge
 Newmanâs Own Issues A Challenge
WESTPORT â Newmanâs Own is giving young people a chance to change the world.
This fall, Newmanâs Own is launching a community action program to encourage charitable entrepreneurship and innovative giving. The first annual âCookinâ Up A Better Worldâ program challenges high school students in the Northeast to develop a creative ârecipe for successâ that will change their local community.
Newmanâs Own is challenging students to come up with imaginative ways to either raise money or uniquely serve a charitable organization. Newmanâs Own will recognize the most creative ideas by either matching the funds raised or by making a contribution to charity in the schoolâs name. Newmanâs Own will award 24 grants ranging in value from $250 to $1,000 each. These grants will fund local community action programs and will put the winning studentsâ plan into action. All schools in New York and New England are eligible and the deadline for entry is December 7.
