Many of these games (those played this past Saturday and Sunday) were played under the rules of the SILENT SIDELINES weekend endorsed by the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association. During the game, both the parents and the coaches had to be silent and let the kids do the talking among themselves.

Most of the feedback from the coaches has been very positive and some have even said they are going to change some of their coaching practices and do less “coaching” from the sidelines during the games. They thought it was good to let the kids make some of the decisions.

Parents, coaches and players seemed to agree though that they missed the positive cheering during the game and will welcome that part back next week.
