Managing A Diverse Workforce Course Offered Online
With todayâs challenges in meeting the demands of an increasingly diverse workforce, managers and employees alike will increase productivity by learning about the worldviews of other cultures. Teikyo Post University is offering a course for undergraduate college credit online via the Internet October 23 through December 20. Those who enroll in the course do not have to be admitted to the universityâs program.
Course participants will tackle âhot issuesâ such as the Americans with Disabilities Act and its implications, the pros and cons of Affirmative Action, and GLBT employees. Other topics will include stereotypes and cultural biases, personal assumptions, assessment of work environments and policies. Also included are issues that may be associated with specific cultural groups, and potential solutions to roadblocks and barriers to success. The structure of this class will be interactive in nature and will utilize case studies, reflection, and other activities to engage participants.
Teikyo Post Universityâs Accelerated Program allows students to earn either associateâs or bachelorâs degrees in half the time. The academic year is divided into six eight-week terms, and classes meet twice a week on Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 7:50 pm and/or 8 to 10:20 pm. Students can earn 30 credits in one year by taking two courses each term. Sites for evening classes are located in Bethel, Meriden, Trumbull, and West Hartford, as well as the main campus in Waterbury.
