Becker And Becker Plan Has Merit
To the Editor:
Yes, the Becker and Becker plan has a lot of merit. Mr Becker has been working on the development of Fairfield Hills for over 18 months. He has talked to a lot of groups and tried to work with the town. His recent meeting with the Legislative Council shows how he is ready to develop Fairfield Hills by answering questions on deed restrictions, waiving rights for zoning laws, and on the merit that his firm has never started a project that they have not finished. The town still has no idea what, where, and when to do something there. Look at Fairfield now! Some say leave it all open space some say develop it commercially? Bruce Beckerâs plan has both, and his plan will generate $2.5 million in taxes a year every year! If the town buys Fairfield Hills the only thing to do is to go into a partnership with a developer. Mr Becker and his firm have answered all the questions that have been asked of him. He has come back time and time again reworking his plan trying to make the town happy!
Like when the town said they had a school problem, he put it in his plan; when open space for fields was looked at, he changed his plan over and over again. He is trying to work with the town. Bruce Becker and his firm, Becker and Becker have answered all the questions. Now is the time for our leaders to go into a working agreement with this developer. If the town develops Fairfield Hills, it would take years for the town to develop it on its own. The cost would be huge; larger than the property itself. Use a plan that has all the details worked out. The Becker and Becker plan has merit!
