Risk of Injury
After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Adam Currier, 16, of 2 Alpine Drive turned himself over to them at the police station on September 16 and was charged with two counts of risk of injury to a minor.
Police said the charges against Currier stem from an incident which occurred on August 6 involving a girl under age 16.
Police released Currier on a promise to appear September 30 in Danbury Superior Court to answer the charges.
VW Vs Dog
Motorist Alexandre Sauvage-Debrantes, 16, of 13 Sugar Street was driving a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta southward on The Boulevard on September 9, when a dog in the yard at 23 Boulevard ran out into the roadâs southbound lane, according to police.
Sauvage-Debrantes collided with the dog, but continued traveling without reporting the accident, police said. After the collision, the dog, which is owned by a woman living on The Boulevard, ran back into the yard, according to police.
Police issued Sauvage-Debrantes an infraction ticket for failure to report injuring a dog.
Queen/Glover
Motorist Daniel Prall, 17, of Bethel, who was driving a 1998 Hyundai Accent eastward on Glover Avenue about 11:44 am September 16, entered Glover Avenueâs intersection with Queen Street to go northward on Queen Street, police report. In making that maneuver, the Hyundai drove in front of motorist Cheryl Orrico, 17, of 7 New Lebbon Road, who was driving a 1998 Jeep Cherokee southward on Queen Street, police report.
Orrico attempted to stop the Jeep, but could not, and the two vehicles collided, according to police. There were no injuries. Police issued Prall an infraction ticket on a stop sign violation.
Chevrolet Vs Mercedes
A two-vehicle accident occurred near the Main Street flagpole about 2:30 pm on September 16.
Motorist Peter Lopato, 62, of 5 Benjamin Drive, who was driving a 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck, was traveling southward on Main Street and passing stopped traffic on the right, police report.
Northbound motorist Cathy Santarsiero, 48, of Trumbull, who was driving a 1971 Mercedes-Benz 250-C, turned left between two stopped vehicles in attempting to enter a parking lot at 33 Main Street, police said.
The Chevrolet and the Mercedes collided. There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Lopato for passing on the right.
DUI Charge
Police said they received a call reporting erratic driving on Church Hill Road about 5:30 pm on September 19, so they investigated. Police said they spotted motorist Sean Kelly, 40, of 100 Church Hill Road, Apt 105, driving over the roadâs center line, so they pulled him over.
Police charged Kelly with driving under the influence and failure to drive to the right. Police later released Kelly on $100 bail for an October 5 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.Â
Sports Car Crash
Motorist Matt Dillon, 25, of Downingtown, Penn., was driving a 2000 Toyota Spyder on the curved Exit 10 entrance ramp to eastbound Interstate 84 about 12:37 am September 18, when the car spun out of control and struck guard cabling along the right road shoulder, state police said.
Dillon refused medical attention. State police said Dillon was traveling too fast for conditions.
Cadillac Hydroplanes
Motorist Tobias Hussey, 23, of Forestville, who was driving a 1993 Cadillac Eldorado eastward on Interstate 84 at about 60 miles per hour about 7:13 am September 18, began to hydroplane on the wet road, state police said.
The auto went out of control, struck metal guard cabling and then rolled over, according to state police. The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Hussey to Danbury Hospital for treatment of leg pain.
State police said Hussey was traveling too fast for conditions.
I-84 Jeep Crash
Motorist Anju Malik, 38, of Edison, N.J., who was driving a 2002 Jeep Cherokee eastward on Interstate 84, east of Exit 11, was driving on a curve in the road and then swerved out of control, striking a bridge wall about 9:48 am September 18, state police said.
Malik was not injured. State police said Malik was traveling too fast for conditions.
Interstate Collision
Motorist Kristen Mezick, 17, of Monroe, who was driving a 1990 Chevrolet westbound on Interstate 84, about one-quarter mile west of Exit 9, on September 17, slowed for traffic and was struck from behind by motorist Joshua McCool, 18, of Waterbury, who was driving a 1990 Dodge, state police said. There were no injuries. State police said McCool was following too closely.
Trespassing
Police report they found three youths trespassing on the Fairfield Hills campus at about 7:30 pm September 20. Charged with simple trespassing were: Jordan Restifo, 18; Daniel Egan, 17, and Nicholas Rizzo, 17, all of Ridgefield. Simple trespassing carries a $92 fine.
Youths Charged
Police said they found two youths in the parking area of Hots Shots II, a bar at 130 Mt Pleasant Road, while the bar the was closed on September 18, so they investigated.
Police said they charged Margaret Benedict, 18, of Bethel with illegal possession of alcohol by a minor, and charged Andrew Bolmer, 18, of 31 Swamp Road with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both were released on promises to appear October 7 in Danbury Superior Court.
Warrant
On September 20, police charged Robert Girard, 21, of New Haven on a warrant lodging one count of using a motor vehicle without the ownerâs permission. The charge stems from a June 23 incident, police said. Police released Girard on a promise to appear October 5 in Danbury Superior Court.
Vehicular Charges
On September 20, police charged Leighton Jamal Johnson, 22, of Danbury with failure to obey a stop sign and with driving while under suspension. Police said they released Johnson for an October 8 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Multiple Offenses
Police report that at about 9 am on September 21 they charged Juan Manuel Recinos-Lemus, 21, of Bethel with second-degree forgery, possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, driving while under suspension, driving without a license, driving without automotive insurance, driving an unregistered vehicle, and misuse of marker plates.
Police said they stopped Recinos-Lemus on Route 34 to investigate, after which they lodged the charges. Police said they found him to be in possession of a loaded air pistol and found a counterfeit identity document.
Police released Recinos-Lemus on $10,000 bail for an October 5 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

Three-Car Crash
Police report a three-car accident on Route 34, east of its intersection with Wasserman Way, about 5:30 pm September 21.
Motorist Julie Mathison, 23, of 29 Mohawk Trail, who was driving a 2002 Ford Focus, was stopped on eastbound Route 34 behind a stopped 1999 Saturn SL-2 driven by Cody Foss, 22, of 43 Spring Trail, police said. Eastbound motorist Christopher Gelada, 24, of Southbury, who was driving a 1989 Buick Century, then struck the Ford from behind, pushing the Ford into the rear end of the Saturn, police said.
The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Mathison to Danbury Hospital for treatment of injuries, police said. Sandy Hook firefighters went to the accident.
Police issued Gelada an infraction ticket for following too closely.
Ford Vs Deer
Motorist David Charbonneau, 42, of Thomaston, who was driving a 1994 Ford Explorer northward on Toddy Hill Road near Settlers Lane about 6:18 pm September 21, encountered a deer that had entered the road, resulting in a collision, police said. Charbonneau was not injured. Police took no enforcement action.
Truck Into Bridge
Trucker Robert Lee Morris, 59, of Decatur, Ga., who was driving a 1998 Volvo truck southward on Botsford Hill Road about 7 pm September 21, attempted to drive beneath the Housatonic Railroad overpass, but the truck cabâs air shield struck the bridge causing minor damage to the bridge, police report.
Morris then backed up but struck several mailboxes at 26 Botsford Hill Road, damaging them, police said. Morris was not injured.
Police issued Morris a written warning for failure to obey bridge-clearance signs and marking, and verbally warned him for unsafe backing.
