WATERTOWN â The Alzheimerâs Associationâs 2004 Memory Walk, âTaking Steps to End Alzheimerâs,â will be held on Sunday, October 3, at Veteranâs Memorial Park. The annual event raises awareness and funds to support local programs for people with Alzheimerâs disease, their families, and caregivers.
âWe expect nearly 300 people from around Western Connecticut to participate in the walk,â said Linda LaBarge of the Alzheimerâs Associationâs 2004 Memory Walk committee. âTheir participation allows us to continue to provide a broad range of programs and services for people with the disease, their families, care partners, residential care professional, and professional care providers.â
Registration begins at 9 am, followed by an opening ceremony with radio personality Allison Demers from WRCH 100.5. The Memory Walk begins at 10 am rain or shine.
