Memory Walk Raises

Awareness And Funds

WATERTOWN — The Alzheimer’s Association’s 2004 Memory Walk, “Taking Steps to End Alzheimer’s,” will be held on Sunday, October 3, at Veteran’s Memorial Park. The annual event raises awareness and funds to support local programs for people with Alzheimer’s disease, their families, and caregivers.

“We expect nearly 300 people from around Western Connecticut to participate in the walk,” said Linda LaBarge of the Alzheimer’s Association’s 2004 Memory Walk committee. “Their participation allows us to continue to provide a broad range of programs and services for people with the disease, their families, care partners, residential care professional, and professional care providers.”

Registration begins at 9 am, followed by an opening ceremony with radio personality Allison Demers from WRCH 100.5. The Memory Walk begins at 10 am rain or shine.

To register or to make a donation, call 866-3-MEMORY or visit www.alzct.org. Funds are generated through pledges taken for walking.
