Lorraine Pinckney

Lorraine A. Pinckney, 84, of Bethel, died September 21 at her home. She was the wife of the late Gordon E. Pinckney.

She was born in Danbury, January 8, 1920, daughter of the late Percival and Katherine (Stenson) Barrett.

She is survived by her children, Kelly Ann Pinckney of Newtown, Nancy Barchi of Bethel, Pam Bruschi of Winterport, Maine, and John Pinckney of Wakefield, R.I.; a sister, Mary Jane Clohessey of Texas; her loving ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Raymond, William, Arnold, and Milton, and sisters, Edwina Birch and Natalie Lathrop.

She was employed in the tea and hatting industries early in her working career. She was a member of St Mary Church, Bethel, an avid athlete, an animal lover, especially cats. She enjoyed gardening and especially traveling to Mohegan Sun Casino. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Mary Church, Bethel on Friday, September 24, at 10 am. Burial will follow in St Peter Cemetery.

Calling hours were scheduled at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St, Danbury, on Thursday, September 23, from 4 to 8 pm.
