John T.           Gallagher
John T. (Jack) Gallagher, 91, of Wolfpits Road, Bethel, loving husband of Barbara (Bennett) Gallagher, died at Danbury Hospital on September 16.
He was born in Danbury on April 11, 1913, son of the late Peter and Belinda âMaryâ (Costello) Gallagher.
In addition to Barbara, his loving wife of 65 years, he is also survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, John and Marsha of Newtown, Kevin and Joanne of New Fairfield, Patrick and Frances of Kensington, and Richard and Nancy of Prattville, Ala.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sons, Mark and Paul; two bothers, Francis and Edward; and two sisters, Marie Goetz and Rita Graessler.
Jack was a graduate of Danbury High School and retired from the former Laneâs Leather Shop in Bethel as a superintendent. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St Maryâs Church and had been actively involved with NARSAD, the mental health association. He was an avid gardener and friend to the earth.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St Maryâs Church in Bethel on September 20. Burial followed in St Maryâs Cemetery.
