*DARIA MUSK TRIO has been working, as mentioned here last week, on writing, rehearsing and even recording plenty of new material and expects to have its CD ready soon… but the local debut of that new material was postponed last week when the band’s show at The Monkey Bar – the new side project of Tuxedo Junction in Danbury – was canceled at the last minute. “Venue conflicts” was the official word from the band, who learned of the cancellation Friday morning.

There are currently no shows on DM3’s schedule. You can, however, hear a sample of its new single “The World Is What You Make Of It” by visiting the band’s website, DariaMuskTrio.com.

*A final reminder this weekend that JEWEL will be performing a benefit concert on Friday, September 24, at Ives Concert Park in Danbury. Tickets for the lawn area are $30 for adults, and $15 for children. (Student, senior and group discounts are usually available, and lawn seating for ages 2 and under is usually free, but there may be a policy change for this show because of its fundraiser status. Contact the box office if you’re considering any of these options.)

Reserved seating in the first six rows is $150 per ticket, and tickets for the next eight rows are $75. Remaining reserved seats are $55 each. Remaining tickets will be available tonight at the gate on the day of a show, with a $3 surcharge and on a cash-only basis. For last-minute details try calling 837-9226.

*CHICAGO and EARTH, WIND & FIRE have teamed up for a tour that will stop in Uncasville on November 1. Tickets for the Mohegan Sun Arena show are on sale at $35 and $55; go to any tickets.com vendor for purchases. Also new on the arena’s calendar is an October 29 RASCAL FLATTS concert. Those tickets will be going on sale Saturday (Sept 25) at 10 am, all priced at $34.75.

*HALL & OATES will be playing at Foxwoods Casino’s Fox Theatre on December 11. Tickets for this recently-added show are already on sale, and are $38.50 and $49.50 apiece. Call the box office at 800-200-2882 or visit www.Foxwoods.com for details.

*COLLECTIVE SOUL, originally scheduled to play Toad’s Place on November 18, will now be at the New Haven club one week earlier. Don’t worry about exchanging tickets, though. If you’ve already purchased tickets for the show, they will be honored on Veterans’ Day. Even Out will have the opening set.

NRBQ will be back at Toad’s later in the month, playing a post-Thanksgiving show on November 26.

Until next week I’ll be seeing you… on the road.

Questions and comments should be sent to Shannon Hicks c/o The Newtown Bee, 5 Church Hill Road, Newtown, CT 06470, or shannon@thebee.com, or call the office at 426-3141.

Shows listed at club locations are for ages 21 and over unless specified.
