Children’s Program

Just Announced: Join us on Saturday, October 10, at 2 pm, for an hour of fun with Trevor the Games Man.

Find out how to use the simplest objects in a fun and interesting way. Trevor knows how to play games without the use of a mouse. A family program for ages 3 and up.

Young Adults

*Young Adult Writing Returning: “Creative Writing: Mythology” will meet from 6 to 8 pm on the following alternate Monday evenings: October 18, November 1, 15 and 29, and December 13.

Author/educator Joan Verniero and experienced volunteers from the summer program return to lead young people in grades 6 and up in writing in this genre. Students are expected to attend all five sessions.

Sign up at the Main Floor Circulation Desk or call the library. For more information, speak to Margaret Brown, Young Adult Librarian.

*Scrabble, Anyone? Later this fall the Young Adult Department will begin offering “Scrabble, Anyone?” afternoons. This popular game was first manufactured right here in Newtown (originally called Criss Cross Words, the game’s rights were purchased by Newtown resident James Brunot, who then named the game Scrabble and developed it into the multimillion dollar game that it has become)

On designated Sunday afternoons, sets will be out on the tables for informal play. Watch for more information.
