Chester A. Uzar
Chester A. Uzar, 82, of Stamford, died on September 17 at Bethel Health Care Center, due to natural causes.
Born in Stamford, January 24, 1922, he was the son of the late Gabriel and Catherine (Pekala) Uzar.
Survivors include two daughters, Janice Fulton of Newtown and Linda Uzar of Watertown; two sisters, Stephanie Birmingham, and Sophie Bender, both of Queensburg, N.Y.; and one grandchild. He was predeceased by his wife Evelyn (Della Corte) Uzar; five brothers, Stanley Uzar, Joseph Uzar, John Uzar, Frank Uzar, and Anthony Uzar; and a sister, Mary Uzar.
He was a truck driver for the City of Stamford Public Works Department for 33 years before his retirement. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the US Army.
The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, was in charge of arrangements.
Services were held on September 21. Interment followed at St Johnâs Roman Catholic Cemetery, Darien.
