CACLD Series On

Effective Advocacy Skills

The Connecticut Association for Children and Adults with Learning Disabilities (CACLD) is holding a series of educational workshops for parents and community based agency professionals on effective advocacy skills.

The goal of the ten sessions is to provide the knowledge and skills necessary for the attendees to advocate more effectively in obtaining an appropriate education for a child with a learning disability and/or an attention deficit disorder.

Instructors represent the state department of education, the Connecticut Parent Advocacy Center (CPAC), CACLD, and professionals in private practice.

Professional staff and facilitators will bring their practice, knowledge, and skills from the field into each session.

The workshops will meet from 10 am to 1 pm at CACLD, 25 Van Zant Street in East Norwalk on consecutive Tuesdays from September 21 through November 30.

There will be no session on Election Day.

Registration fees range from $200 to $350 for the entire series. Full and partial scholarships are available to those who could not otherwise attend. For information and registration information, contact CACLD at 203-838-5010 or email at cacld@optonline.com.
