Umberto Cassinelli

A Gentle

And Loving Man

Umberto “Al” Cassinelli, 87, of Sandy Hook, died peacefully at home, September 19, surrounded by family. Mr Cassinelli was born in New York City, March 15, 1924.

He is survived by his loving wife Norma; two children, daughter Patrice Buonassisi and son Daniel Cassinelli; son-in-law Michael Buonassisi; and five grandchildren. He will also be missed by his sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mr Cassinelli was a World War II Air Corps veteran, a retired lithographer, and a parishioner of St Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church.

He was a kind and gentle man whose grandchildren and family were his greatest joys. His warm smile, sense of humor, and loving ways will be missed by those he knew.

Calling hours were scheduled Thursday, September 22, from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm, at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at St Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown, Friday, September 23, at 11 am.
