Julia Muriel

Fitzpatrick Pinto

A Mother To All

Julia Muriel Fitzpatrick Pinto, 86, of Bridgeport, died September 10, at the Watermark in Bridgeport. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank L. Pinto, Jr. Born in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of John and Julia Dillon Fitzpatrick.

Survivors include daughter Karen Pinto Kastner, and her husband Matthew, of Newtown; her sons, Tom Kush, and his wife Harriet, of O’Fallon, Ill., and John Pinto of Greenwich; foster children, Sharon Unwin, Dana Mastri, and his wife Heike, and Carol Mastri of Bridgeport; a brother, Thomas D. Fitzpatrick, and his wife Peggy; three sisters-in-law; three grandsons; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her brother, John F. Brophy, Sr, and sister-in-law, Ann Brophy Kimball.

Mrs Pinto’s main focus in life centered around caring for her family, her friends, and those in need. She was always there to offer comfort, support, and sound advice to her many “kids,” her own, her grandchildren, her foster children, and the countless nieces, nephews, and cousins who flocked to her door. She loved her two “baby” brothers and they loved her back.

She held several offices in the American Legion Auxiliary and spent many years volunteering at the West Haven Veterans Hospital. She will be deeply missed by all she touched, but her genuine goodness lives on in all of those she knew.

Funeral services took place September 14. Interment was in St Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford.
