High School Cross Country Teams Earn Victories

Newtown High School’s girls’ and boys’ cross country teams both started the season well. The girls begin the year 6-0 and the boys started out 5-1. Both squads swept the competition in their lone home meet of the year, on the grounds behind Reed School, on Tuesday, September 20.

Both teams took on host Weston, Bunnell of Stratford, Joel Barlow of Redding on September 13, and entertained Bethel, New Fairfield, and Oxford in meet number two.

Sullivan came from behind to pull past New Fairfield’s top runner, Zach Anderson, by just one second, for a runner-up finish behind always-dominant Feinstein.
