Church Hill Accident
Police investigated a two-vehicle accident on Church Hill Road near the driveway entrance to the Blue Colony Diner.
Motorist Courtney Bonjour, 23, of 23 Sleepy Hollow Road, who was driving a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon coupe westward on Church Hill Road about 4:35 pm on September 14, was attempting to make a left turn into the dinerâs parking lot, police said.
At that time, motorist Daryl Harris, 45, of Waterbury was driving a 2008 Nissan Maxima sedan eastward on Church Hill Roadâs right-turn-only lane, police said.
After the Hyundai turned in front of the approaching Nissan, the two vehicles collided, police said.
There were no injuries. Bonjour received a written warning for failure to grant the right of way, police said.

Dodgingtown Crash
Police report an accident in which the offending motorist allegedly left the scene of the collision.
Police said that motorist Paul Andras, 21, of 16 Poverty Hollow Road, who was driving a 2008 Jeep Wrangler SUV, was positioned behind motorist Vincent Palumba, 53, of 7 Bentagrass Lane, who was driving a 2011 Ford F-150 pickup truck, when the Ford backed up into the front end of Jeep at about 1:14 pm on September 11 in a parking lot at 1 Dodgingtown Road.
The Ford then left the scene of the accident, after which police said they found and stopped Palumba near 49 South Main Street, more than five miles away from the scene of the collision.
There were no injuries. Police said they charged Palumba with evading responsibility and released him on $500 bail for a September 22 court appearance.
Trucker Charged
Police said that at about 3:50 pm on September 16, they spotted a truck hauling a trailer southward on Main Street without functioning lights on the trailer, so they stopped the vehicle to investigate near 14 Church Hill Road.
Police said they charged truck driver Raul Contreras, 27, of Norwalk with driving with a suspended license, misuse of a transport plate, and failure to have functioning brake lamps.
Police released Contreras on $400 bail for a September 29 court appearance.
DUI Arrest
Police report that they received a complaint about erratic driving occurring about 6 pm September 18, so they investigated and spotted the vehicle in question traveling westward on Church Hill Road in Sandy Hook, after which it turned right onto the Exit 10 on-ramp for westbound Interstate 84.
Police said that motorist Alexander Valaris, 23, of Southbury did not travel in the established lane, so they stopped him on I-84 to investigate.
Police said they charged Valaris with driving under the influence and with making a restricted turn.
After processing, police released Valaris on $100 bail for an October 4 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Obtuse Road
Police report an accident involving a sedan and a mail delivery truck that occurred near 38 Obtuse Road about 4:26 pm September 16.
Police said that David Redline, 45, of Middlebury was driving a mail truck that was pulling away from a curbside residential mailbox when it was struck from behind by motorist Edward Lucano, 51, of 50 Obtuse Road, who was driving a 2002 Volvo S-60 sedan.
Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps members transported Redline to Danbury Hospital on a report of neck pain, police said.
Police said they issued Lucano a written warning stating that he was following too closely.
SUV Vs Pickup
Motorist Sandra Baldino-Hannan, 42, of 12 Farm Field Ridge Road was driving a 2011 GMC Acadia SUV westward on Church Hill Road behind westbound motorist Gerard Longo, 46, of 39 Walnut Tree Hill Road, who was driving a 2008 Dodge Dakota pickup truck, at about 5:27 pm September 13, police said.
Both vehicles then stopped for a red traffic signal at the Exit 10 interchange of Interstate 84, police report.
After the traffic signal turned green, the GMC moved forward and struck the rear end of the Dodge, police said. There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Baldino-Hannan for following too closely.
I-84 Crash
State police report that a 29-year-old Danbury man, who was driving a 2000 Subaru Outback westward on Interstate 84 about 1,500 feet west of Exit 10, about 8:20 pm September 16, was struck by another unspecified vehicle which then left the scene of the accident.
The victim was not injured. State police are investigating a case of evading responsibility by the driver who left the accident.
Highway Accident
About 8:30 am on September 16, motorist Jessica Krampitz, 28, of Southbury, who was driving a 2008 BMW 335-XI westward on Interstate 84, about 1,000 feet west of Exit 10, stopped for traffic conditions and was then struck from behind by westbound motorist Dana Michelle Weaver, 41, of Waterbury, who was driving a 1997 Honda Accord, according to state police.
State police said they charged Weaver with driving with a suspended license, following too closely, and displaying the wrong marker plates on a vehicle.
State police said they released Weaver on $1,000 bail for an October 3 court appearance.
Evading Responsibility
State police report that a 64-year-old New York City man was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Aveo eastward on Interstate 84, about 500 feet east of the Exit 10 on-ramp, when a pickup truck, which was hauling a landscaping trailer, struck the Chevrolet, pushing it off the road shoulder and into some guardcabling at about 11:30 am on September 14.
The pickup truck continued onward, state police said. Neither the Chevrolet driver nor a passenger was injured.

Toyota Vs Honda
About 6 pm on September 16, motorist Katherine Martinelli, 17, of 11 Ridge Road, who was driving a 2001 Toyota Corolla sedan, attempted to back out of a parking space at Newtown High School, but struck an adjacent parked 2007 Honda Accord coupe, police report.
There were no injuries. Police took no enforcement.
Vandalism
Police report that sometime between 5:45 pm on September 17, and 9:30 am on September 18, someone intentionally damaged multiple curbside residential mailboxes in the area of Webster Place, Shut Road, and Brookwood Drive.

DUI Incident
At about 7:05 pm on September 17, police received a report that a one-vehicle accident had occurred near 95 Boggs Hill Road, so they went to that area to investigate.
Police said they later determined that motorist Leo Schwertley, 44, of 24 Equestrian Ridge Road, who was driving a 1998 Nissan Maxima sedan, had struck a utility pole and a stone wall alongside the road, after which Schwertley drove away from the scene of the accident.
Police said that at about 7:10 pm, they spotted Schwertley driving the damaged Nissan on Hattertown Road, so they stopped him to investigate.
Schwertley was charged with driving under the influence, evading responsibility, driving an unregistered vehicle, and with making a restricted turn, police said. Schwertley was not injured in the accident, police said.
After processing, Schwertley was released on $100 bail for an October 4 court appearance, police said.
Evading Responsibility
Police report a two-vehicle accident about 7:40 pm on September 21 in which one of the two motorists left the scene of the crash, thus evading responsibility.
Police said a Sandy Hook woman, who was driving an unspecified vehicle, stopped for a red traffic signal on eastbound Church Hill Road at its intersection with Exit 10 of Interstate 84, after which an unknown young white adult male, who was driving a white Toyota SUV, stopped behind the woman.
The Toyota then suddenly drove into the rear end of the womanâs vehicle, after which the Toyota left the scene and entered eastbound I-84, police said. The Toyota had Connecticut marker plates that contained the numeral â6â and the letter âN,â police said. The vehicle likely has front-end damage.
