Brookfield Man Discharged From Hospital After Accident
A Brookfield man, who was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident on September 8 on Interstate 84, which left him hospitalized in critical condition at Danbury Hospital, was discharged from the hospital this week.
A hospital spokeswoman said that William J. Guglielmo, 42, of Brookfield was discharged on September 20.
At about 4 pm on September 8, Guglielmo, who was driving a 2010 Nissan Versa compact car westward on I-84, just west of the Exit 10 on-ramp, collided with the rear end of a large powerboat mounted on a disabled boat trailer that was parked on the right road shoulder, state police have said.
The driver and passenger of a pickup truck, which had been hauling the boat, stopped after the boat trailer experienced a tire blow out. The two men were then in the process of changing that tire when the Nissan driven by Guglielmo struck the boat and trailer, according to state police.
The impact resulted in Guglielmo receiving head and torso injuries, state police have said.
The accident caused extensive travels delays on westbound I-84. The incident is under investigation.
