Ruth Silverman

Loving Mother and Grandmother

Ruth Silverman, 87, of Bridgeport died September 17 at Bridgeport Hospital.

Mrs Silverman is survived by her loving and devoted children, Robert Tendler and his wife, Deborah, of Newtown, Sue Kotlen and her husband, Jay, of Trumbull, and Sharon Hirshik and her husband, Andrew. She is also survived by her adored grandchildren, Melissa Nagin and her husband, Benjamin, Robyn Kotlen, Eric Hirshik and his wife, Mandy, Russell Hirshik, Jared Tendler, and Jessica Tendler; and by her cherished great-grandchildren, Zachary, Sarah, and Alexander Nagin. Mrs Silverman was predeceased by her brother, Samuel Mazur, and by two sisters, Rose Mazur and Betty Berkowitz.

Mrs Silverman was born in New London, a daughter of Morris and Bertha (Slotnick) Mazur, and was a dedicated volunteer at The Jewish Home for the Elderly, and a longtime member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom.

Services took place September 19 from The Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home, Fairfield, with interment at Rodeph Sholom Memorial Park on Kings Highway in Fairfield.

Shiva was observed at the Kotlen residence in Trumbull.
