Maureen Lavin Sheridan

Former Teacher and Nursery School      Operator

Maureen Lavin Sheridan, beloved wife of Joseph L. Sheridan, died September 14 at Bridgeport Hospital. She was born in Bridgeport, the daughter of Anne Marie Lavin of Bridgeport and the late Bernard J. Lavin.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her beloved children, Martha Brennan of Sandy Hook, Eileen Sheridan of Shelton, Brian Sheridan of Shelton, and Maura Kjar and her husband, Thomas, of Glastonbury. She also leaves four cherished grandchildren, Carly Brennan, Jonathan Stelmaszek, Conor Brennan, and Timothy Kjar. She is also survived by two sisters, Mary Frances Sorge, and Margaret (Patricia) Puglia and her husband, Patrick, all of Shelton; five brothers, Gerald Lavin, of Bridgeport, Bernard Lavin Jr and his wife, Laura, of Clinton, Shaun Lavin of Madison, Dr William Lavin and his wife, Mary Anne, of Guilford, and Kevin Lavin of Bridgeport; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs Sheridan was a longtime Trumbull resident. She was an elementary school teacher in the Bridgeport School System, owned and operated the Happy Time Nursery School in Trumbull, and for many years worked for the Town of Trumbull. She enjoyed vacationing in Naples, Fla., and spending time with family and friends at her summer home in the Berkshires.

Thanks to Dr Robert Folman and all of the nurses for the excellent care and for all the visits and prayers from Monsignor Dora and staff at St Theresa’s Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial took place September 19 in St Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church, Trumbull. Interment followed in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
