Football Program Support Appreciated

To the Editor:

 This year’s varsity, junior varsity, and freshman football teams at Newtown High School wish to thank the community for its support of our Labor Day gold card sales effort.

We appreciate, too, the encouragement from so many people on the parade route who wished us a successful season, and we’re already off to a great start.

Before we even began our sales, we decided to make a donation to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Katrina relief. We will be sending a donation of $1,500 to the relief efforts.

 Thank you, Newtown, for your support.
