Panacea And Plenty Of Friends Fill Labor Day Weekend With Music & Memories
On September 1, Panacea held a reunion performance to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Newtown High School Class of 1974.
The reunion performance was held in the pavilion at Dickinson Memorial Park.
Panacea was joined by musicians from The Willie-Portera Trio and other guest performers.
There was enough money raised to donate almost $2,000 that was split between Sandy Hook Promise and Ability Beyond. Guests were also encouraged to donate nonperishables to The Bridget Seaman Memorial FAITH Food Pantry Drive. Prior to her death in April 2021, Seaman was known to pass around a “Flat Bridget” cutout in homage to Jeff Brown’s Flat Stanley book series as a way of encouraging attendees to make donations for the food pantry. After she died, Seaman was honored by Panacea, who renamed the annual collection in her memory. A large collection for the local pantry was again received that Sunday afternoon.
Weenie Lynne’s food truck also provided a wide variety of offerings.
