How Long in Newtown: I have lived in Newtown for 44 years. Prior to that, I lived in Arlington, Mass.
Biggest Change Seen in Town: Obviously the growth, especially in housing. Also, the growth in the townâs sports organizations.
Family: My wife, Ellen, and I have been married for 44 years. We have four children, Barbara, 42; Daniel, 41; Carolyn, 34; and Kathryn, 33. We have six grandchildren, Justin, 14; Alex, 10; Jessica, 11; Rebecca, 8; Jake, 4; and Derek, 10.
Hobbies: I am a book collector of histories and biographies, with an emphasis on the Civil War. I have 2,500 books. A good part of my life is spent collecting books. I also like sports and bike riding.
Favorite Books and Authors: I like to read, especially historical books by authors such as Stephen Ambrose.
Favorite TV Show: New York PD Blue and Law and Order.
Organizations: I have been volunteering for the C.H. Booth Libraryâs annual book sale for six years. My specialty is the biography section. Â
Most Vivid Memory of Newtown: The news about the town approving an addition to the C.H. Booth Library.
Favorite Vacation Spot: Florida, Canada, and upstate Maine. I have a lot of relatives in Maine.
Personal Philosophy: Do the right thing, and have a good sense of humor.
