Annual Safe Walk

DANBURY — October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The Women’s Center presents its 6th Annual 4k “Safe Walk” on Sunday morning, September 30, at the Westside Campus of Western Connecticut State University.

This year, the Women’s Center is proud to honor the Danbury Office of the Connecticut Department of Children and Families for actively supporting its mission to end the violence.

Women’s Center Board Member Tamar Christopher-Hord and Advisory Council member Brenda Berta are co-chairing the 2012 Safe Walk. They are seeking support in a number of areas, large and small.

The event is being held rain or shine, registration begins at 8:30 am, followed by the opening ceremony at 9:30 and walking at 10. In the event of inclement weather, all Safe Walk activities will be held in the O’Neill Center at WCSU.

Preregistration is $50 per team, $25 per individual, $15 per student; Walk day registration is $60 for a team, $30 for individuals, $20 for students.
