‘Roxbury Unearthed’

Lecture, Sunday

ROXBURY — Dr Lucianne Lavin, the director of research at the Institute of American Indian Studies in Washington (Conn.), will offer a brief lecture focusing on some of the items in the current exhibition at Hodge Memorial Library, North Street, on Sunday, September 23. The exhibition, “Roxbury Unearthed,” shares artifacts from several eras of the town’s past that were founds in fields, streams and even in the walls of old Roxbury homes, as well as native artifacts dating back more than 3,000 years ago.

The lecture will begin at 1 pm. The exhibition will close at the end of the library’s business day, at 4 pm. Call 860-350-2181 (the adjacent Minor Memorial Library) for additional information.
