New Exhibit At Wisdom House Gallery

LITCHFIELD — The Marie Louise Trichet  Gallery at Wisdom House announces the opening of the exhibit “The Spirit Within Me,” featuring the works of Norell Gudaitis on Saturday, September 29.

Born in Opelika, Ala., Ms Gudaitis is a folk artist who began painting at the age of 74. “The first thing I painted was a face,” she said, “and I do a lot of faces because doing faces connects me to myself.”

For her, painting keeps her happy and feeling young. She is a resident of Torrington, and continues to produce a body of work that engages the spirit and the imagination.

An opening reception will take place from 1 to 3 pm on September 29. The exhibit will then continue until Saturday, December 29. Wisdom House is at 229 East Litchfield Road (off Route 118).
