Catchment Council

To Meet

BETHEL — The Housatonic Mental Health Catchment Area Council, a group of volunteers representing area towns, people in recovery, family members and providers, will hold their first meeting of the year on Thursday, September 27, at 3 pm, at the Stony Hill Fire Department, Route 6. Guests and individuals who may be interested in the mental health services for adults or volunteering with the organization are invited to attend.

A major agenda item at this meeting will be an overview of the greater Danbury Service System — adult services in the 11 towns in the area. The emphasis is on services to people with the mental illnesses. There will be an opportunity for questions and comments.

The ongoing work of this group, defined by state statute, includes review and evaluation of area programs, needs assessment and planning, education and advocacy. Volunteers are particularly needed for the towns of New Fairfield, New Milford, and Sherman.

For more information call Janine Sullivan-Wiley at 757-9603 or go online to www.nwrmhb.org.
