MONROE – Wrestling never leaves the blood, as some former members of the Newtown High School wrestling team will attest.

Guys like Billy Henckel and Mike Monroe are members of Team Delmia Brazilian Jujitsu, which competed and performed very well at the North American Grappling Association (NAGA) Challenge II Submission Championships in Somerset, Massachusetts on Saturday, September 15.

Henckel and Monroe are two of the strongest wrestlers Newtown has had go through its program.

Team Delmia was led by Henckel, Monroe, Steve Finn, James Eckler, Marco Delmia, and Chris Ipacs.

The team – training under Marco Delmia – works out of the Ipacs Karate Academy in Monroe and is getting prepared for some future competitions.
