‘Gardening Is Painless And Other Lies We Tell Ourselves’
The Garden Club of Newtown will start its fall programming with the return of Neal Sanders, presenting “Gardening Is Painless and Other Lies We Tell Ourselves.”
Sanders was the club’s speaker in 2023, and he had the audience in stitches with his wry commentary on the role of himself as the principal undergardener to his wife’s designs.
The topics he will cover during his return visit include advice on how to create a new garden out of an old quarry site, why giving a flower show ticket to a gardener can have unintended consequences, and the challenges of attempting to build rock walls, among other subjects.
Sanders is also the author of several books, copies of which will be available in paperback following his presentation.
The program will be held in the lower community room at C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street. The program is free and doors to the room open at 12:45 for the 1 pm public presentation.
